Shahid Naveed has been named chief product and technology officer at Perkbox, arriving from his previous position at Freetrade. He will oversee a technology team comprising roughly 70 professionals, covering product development, engineering, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, analytics, and business insights.
The new executive’s responsibilities will focus on enhancing how staff access and utilize workplace perks via the Perkbox platform.
Role and Responsibilities
A key aspect of his role involves investigating how artificial intelligence might enhance the platform’s tools for human resources and compensation teams. This includes developing methods to detect underutilized benefits and propose strategies to boost workforce engagement.
Naveed brings over two decades of leadership experience across fintech, digital marketplaces, software development, and major technology firms. Before joining Perkbox, he served as chief product and technology officer at Freetrade, where he managed product strategy, engineering, data operations, cybersecurity, and workplace technology for the investment service.
Background and Experience
During his tenure at Freetrade, Naveed played a key role in guiding the company through its acquisition by IG Group. He conducted technology due diligence on behalf of the seller and later contributed to post-merger growth initiatives.
Earlier in his career, he helped Auction Technology Group prepare for its initial public offering and led global engineering teams at Amazon. At Amazon, he coordinated the transfer of billions of customer records from legacy systems to modern distributed platforms without service interruptions.
Perkbox currently supports over 7,500 organizations and nearly 4 million employees across the globe, the company states. Its client roster includes more than 80% of NHS workplaces.
