Snappy Group, a Scottish technology company, has secured a seven-figure funding facility with Virgin Money’s Venture Debt team. This move strengthens the company’s ability to invest in its product suite and support growing enterprise demand.

The company’s Snappy Shopper grocery delivery platform is seeing unprecedented growth, with transaction volumes hitting record levels and annualised grocery gross merchandise value exceeding £150m. Snappy Group works with a range of independent and national retail partners, including Spar, One Stop, Morrisons, and the Co-op.

Snappy Group has evolved into a broader retail technology platform, providing marketplace, order aggregation, white label, and retail media solutions to retailers across the UK. The company’s order aggregation product is also in high demand, with a strong pipeline of major global retailers in discussion.

The new funding facility gives Snappy Group increased flexibility and capacity as it enters a significant period of commercial growth. Barry McGonagle, chief financial officer at Snappy Group, said the facility adds firepower to previous equity investments, giving the company the capital and flexibility to accelerate its growth with confidence.

Andrew Stirrat, senior director of Venture Debt at Virgin Money, said the company has closely tracked Snappy Shopper’s progress over several years and has been impressed by the strength of the business and its sustained growth. Virgin Money is delighted to support one of Scotland’s leading scale-up technology companies through this lending facility.
