Ecommerce platforms roll out fresh tools

Ecommerce platforms and payment providers introduced new tools this week, broadening options for merchants in product discovery, affiliate sales, and payments.

Amazon and Pinterest collaborate on affiliate sales

Creators on Pinterest can now link directly to their Amazon storefronts from profiles. When users tag products in pins, the platform automatically applies the creator’s affiliate details, eliminating manual link management.

Shoppers see a complete view of recommended products without leaving Pinterest. The change simplifies workflows for creators, who previously handled affiliate links separately.

Instant payments expand across Europe

ACI Worldwide joined the European Payments Initiative as a technical service provider, adding the EPI’s Wero digital wallet to its platform. Wero operates on SEPA instant payment rails, supporting peer-to-peer transfers, ecommerce, and in-store purchases.

Businesses and financial intermediaries across Europe can now offer Wero to consumers. The wallet aims to standardize digital payments in the region, reducing dependence on third-party providers.

Visa and OpenAI develop infrastructure for AI-driven commerce

Visa partnered with OpenAI to integrate payment capabilities into AI agent experiences. Developers and merchants can accept Visa payments initiated by AI, using the company’s global network, tokenization, and fraud monitoring.

The collaboration will explore agentic commerce infrastructure.

ShopAgentic raises €1.9 million for AI-driven commerce tools

ShopAgentic secured a €1.9 million ($2.2 million) pre-seed round led by May Ventures and Greenfield Capital. The platform uses a coordinated group of AI agents to automate catalog management, dynamic pricing, customer service, and fulfillment.

The funding will accelerate product development and deepen integrations across the commerce ecosystem. The startup aims to reduce the manual workload for merchants managing multiple sales channels.

Athos Commerce launches AI-powered product discovery

Athos Commerce released Commerce Intelligent Discovery, an AI-driven framework combining search, personalization, merchandising, and product feed management. The platform helps brands improve product visibility across traditional and generative shopping channels.

The tool addresses a common challenge for ecommerce merchants: ensuring products appear in relevant searches without constant manual adjustments to listings or ad campaigns.

DoorDash introduces conversational search

DoorDash rolled out Ask DoorDash, a conversational search tool available in select areas on iOS. Users can tap the Ask button in the search bar to share a recipe link, upload a cookbook photo, or describe the type of reservation they need.

The feature currently supports restaurant search and grocery shopping. Expansion plans depend on user feedback and adoption rates.

Fast Simon adds AI personalization for Shopify merchants

Ecommerce search and merchandising platform Fast Simon launched an AI personalization tool for mid-market and enterprise brands on Shopify. The update optimizes brand presentation, collection strategy, product launches, promotions, and inventory management.

LinkedIn introduced Creator Marketplace and BrandWorks. Creator Marketplace connects brands with creators for collaborations, while BrandWorks provides strategy and support for B2B marketers running campaigns on the platform.

The updates reflect LinkedIn’s push to become a hub for professional content creation, not just networking. Testing for creator-focused features began over a year ago.

Merchantee secures €1.8 million for agentic marketplace management

Agentic marketplace startup Merchantee raised €1.8 million ($2.1 million) in funding led by Reflex Capital, with participation from Czech Founders VC and Lighthouse Ventures. The platform manages data, decision-making, execution, and optimization for marketplace sellers.

Sellers can set budget and sales limits to guide discount campaigns, dynamic pricing, and promotion participation. The funds will support product development and expand marketplace integrations.

Shopware partners with PayPal for payment acceptance

Open-source ecommerce platform Shopware launched Payments, a feature powered by PayPal that lets merchants activate and manage payment methods directly within the platform. The tool supports cards, digital wallets, buy-now-pay-later options, PayPal, and Venmo.

The integration simplifies checkout for merchants, reducing the need to manage multiple payment gateways separately. The feature is available to all Shopware users at no additional cost.

Triple Whale automates media buying with Moby Automations

AI optimization system Triple Whale released Moby Automations, a suite of tools for automating media buying. The platform allows users to scale winning campaigns by setting rules, manage creative performance at scale, and track results across attribution models.

Moby Automations analyzes large creative libraries to surface top performers, cutting manual review time for ecommerce brands running multiple ad campaigns.

Fractal launches AI profit engine for ecommerce

AI solutions developer Fractal launched Cogentiq e-commerce, an AI-native profit engine that monitors stock levels, media spend, keywords, content, and pricing. The tool integrates with Amazon and plans to expand to other platforms.

Cogentiq helps consumer product companies optimize sales channels by keeping products available, discoverable, and competitive. The system provides real-time recommendations to improve conversion rates.

Pollo AI streamlines product visual creation

Creative suite Pollo AI introduced Commerce Studio, a tool for generating product visuals. The platform’s video maker transforms standard images into polished clips with motion and close-ups, while its virtual try-on photo places products on realistic AI avatars.

The AI product shot generator creates studio- and lifestyle product photos with refined composition. The tool reduces the time and cost of producing high-quality visuals for ecommerce listings, offering new opportunities for brands to showcase products.
