With operations in 55 markets and 1,200 employees across 22 offices, SAMY views the acquisition as essential to its global expansion plans.

SAMY has acquired Get Engaged, a US-based social-first agency specializing in creators, talent, entertainment, and cultural partnerships. The deal marks a significant step in SAMY’s push into the US market, where brands increasingly turn to influencer-driven and social media campaigns for engagement. Get Engaged operates with over 120 employees across offices in Atlanta, New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles. Founded in 2016 by Alex Dermer, Cam Fordham, and Ben Hiott, the agency focuses on social media strategy, influencer marketing, celebrity partnerships, content production, and paid media.

The acquisition ensures the company’s founders and current leadership will remain in place. This move follows SAMY’s recent wins, including new client contracts with Unilever Foods and Barilla, along with the appointment of Anabela Bonuccelli as US Managing Director. With operations in 55 markets and 1,200 employees across 22 offices, SAMY views the acquisition as essential to its global expansion plans.

Juan Andrés Elhazaz Walsh, SAMY’s CEO, described the deal as reinforcing the company’s leadership in scalable social and creator marketing. For Get Engaged, the partnership merges its deep roots in US entertainment and creator culture with SAMY’s international network. Dermer, now CEO of Get Engaged, highlighted the shared vision to advance marketing through global reach and technological integration.

The acquisition reflects a broader industry trend toward building lasting creator and talent relationships. Fordham, a co-founder, emphasized that brands will succeed by creating meaningful cultural connections. Bridgepoint, SAMY’s majority shareholder since 2025, called the deal another milestone in the agency’s development. The firm has supported SAMY’s expansion into France, Denmark, Romania, Canada, and Turkey. The acquisition comes as brands increasingly depend on creators and cultural partnerships to drive engagement.

Unlike traditional advertising, influencer and talent-led strategies require deep local knowledge—something Get Engaged brings to SAMY’s global operations. The agency’s focus on entertainment and content production supports the shift toward immersive, experience-driven marketing, where brands prioritize sustained storytelling over short-term campaigns. While SAMY has already grown in Europe and Latin America, the US remains critical for scaling its model. The deal aligns with a broader industry pattern of larger agencies acquiring specialized players to strengthen their service offerings.

For Get Engaged’s team, the partnership provides access to SAMY’s technology and data tools, which could improve their ability to measure cultural impact and audience engagement. Get Engaged’s founders and leadership will stay in their roles, ensuring continuity in client service. Dermer and Fordham’s statements reflect the agency’s dedication to maintaining its original approach—connecting brands with culture in authentic ways.

This contrasts with other acquisitions where creative teams are sometimes overlooked in favor of corporate integration. The deal also strengthens SAMY’s approach of combining technology with creative execution. By merging Get Engaged’s US expertise with SAMY’s global reach, the combined entity aims to deliver a unified strategy for social and creator marketing. Clients may benefit from more consistent performance across regions, supported by data and AI tools.

Bridgepoint’s continued investment signals confidence in SAMY’s growth. The firm has backed the agency’s expansion into diverse markets, and the Get Engaged acquisition fits within that strategy. With the US now a top focus, the deal positions SAMY to compete more effectively with global agencies in social-first campaigns. The combined agency will leverage Get Engaged’s cultural insights alongside SAMY’s international capabilities to deliver integrated solutions for brands.
