
Digident launched FleetStart Radar, a service that helps fleet suppliers in the West Midlands find sales leads and assess roadwork risks using UK public data.
The platform gathers information from government sources, including goods-vehicle applications from the Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain, the Care Quality Commission’s location directory, and the Department for Transport’s roadworks feed. It transforms these records into searchable signals and tools, eliminating the need for customers to manually review weekly PDF notices or live technical updates.
How the platform turns data into actionable signals
FleetStart Radar operates through three core workflows. The first, FleetStart opportunity radar, monitors operator licence activity in the region. It highlights new applications, variations, grants, changes to authorised vehicles or trailers, and operating-center updates. Each alert provides the organisation name, licence reference, trigger, publication date, a clear explanation of its relevance, and a score to filter out routine updates.
An application does not guarantee a licence approval or a vehicle sale. The platform directs users to the original public source for verification, reducing the research burden on customers.

The second component, CQC Start Signals, merges a live directory of care locations with a change-monitoring system. It establishes a baseline of existing registrations, then tracks new ones or location changes. This approach ensures users recognise when no unseen changes exist, rather than questioning whether the feed has failed.
The third tool, Roadworks JobGuard, allows customers to save job locations and planned dates. The platform compares incoming roadworks events against these jobs and flags potential access, parking, or arrival issues. It does not assume every nearby roadwork causes disruption but indicates when further investigation is needed before dispatching a vehicle or engineer.
Most commercial data tools either deliver raw feeds or attempt to predict outcomes. FleetStart Radar takes a middle approach by presenting signals without claiming to know the customer’s next steps. This method proves valuable in an industry where timing often outweighs volume—knowing when a fleet is expanding or relocating can be more useful than simply knowing it exists.
Limited rollout and pricing
The service is currently available only in the West Midlands, allowing Digident to concentrate on a manageable area. It targets businesses selling vehicles, trailers, leasing services, telematics, insurance, compliance, maintenance, tyres, fuel, charging, and fleet conversions.
The customer portal offers research shortcuts, pipeline tracking, and CSV export options. Users can access the platform on demand or receive a controlled daily or weekly digest, with emails limited to their chosen schedule.

Digident is offering founding access to the first 20 eligible customers at £59.99 per month or £599.90 per year, which includes two free months. Once those spots are taken, the standard regional price rises to £99.99 per month or £999.90 per year. The platform automatically manages the founding allocation.
Simon Banner, director at Digident, explained that the service addresses a gap in how sales and operations teams use public data. “A static company list can show who exists, but it rarely explains why today is the right time to research an account,” he stated. “FleetStart Radar adds that timing and context while keeping the public evidence visible. The same applies to roadworks: a national feed only becomes useful when connected to a real customer job.”
Payments are processed through GoCardless, not directly by FleetStart. The platform functions as research and workflow software, not a contact database or regulatory decision service, and users must verify public records themselves.
