Texas-based retailer Kent Kwik is adding a 14,317-square-foot location in Ardmore, Tennessee, about 80 miles south of downtown Nashville. The site will feature a diesel island, truckers’ lounge, and full-service restaurant.
The new location will be Kent Kwik’s first new-to-industry location in Tennessee, according to a company spokesperson. It will include one of its Rustic Cafe restaurants. This expansion is part of the company’s growth strategy. We entered the Tennessee market in 2020 through acquisition, and the Ardmore location marks a significant milestone as the company’s first NTI store in the market.
Kent Kwik has nearly doubled its store count in recent years, expanding from 75 locations in spring 2023 to 132 by the end of last year. They are also broadening their store formats, having debuted a food-focused store design with a drive-thru last year.

The Ardmore project will be Kent Kwik’s first newly built travel center in Tennessee, although they operate 11 travel centers across their network. The new site is expected to open by the end of this year. The company spokesperson provided details about the project.
“Some of the main features will be a designated diesel island, truckers lounge, beer and ice caves, and full-service Rustic Cafe restaurant,” Kent’s spokesperson said in a statement. The truckers’ lounge will include showers, laundry machines, and other amenities for drivers making longer stops. The Rustic Cafe will serve chicken fried steak, burgers, and all-day breakfast.
